Athens Football: Athens looks to ruin Nelsonville-York's perfect conference record in regular season finale

Athens dominated last Friday night’s game against River Valley, winning 35-0 in a lightning-shortened contest. The Bulldogs remained at the fourth spot in the Tri-Valley Conference Ohio standings.

Athens (3-6, 3-2 TVC-Ohio) will play its last regular season game against Nelsonville-York at home Friday night as it looks to cap off an eventful season. Friday will be an important game, as the Bulldogs can play spoiler against the Buckeyes. If Nelsonville-York wins, it claims sole possession of the TVC-Ohio title and will have an undefeated conference record.

Game Information

Opponent: Nelsonville-York

Venue: Joe Burrow Stadium

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

News and Notes:

- Athens last played Nelsonville-York on Oct. 2, 2020 and lost 36-6.

- Athens is currently fourth in the TVC-Ohio while Nelsonville-York is looking to be the lone conference champion. A win would clinch that for the Buckeyes.
