Athens got exactly what it needed last Friday, a win. The Bulldogs kept the energy from their high-scoring first half to get a strong finish, beating rival Alexander 41-14.
Now, it’s onto another conference matchup for the Bulldogs. Athens will travel Friday to play at Vinton County. The Vikings are currently 2-1 on the season and had their first loss against Zane Trace in its last game.
Athens will need to come to play and perform as it did against Alexander to be able to add to its win column. To stay near the top of the Tri-Valley Conference-Ohio division, this is a game the Bulldogs need to win.
