Ohio is off to the Glass City this weekend for a four game series against Toledo. The Rockets have had an abysmal year (4-17, 2-6 MAC) but that could be in part to playing all their games on the road. Ohio (9-9, 3-5 MAC) will be the first guest this season at Scott Park and the Bobcats hope they can put a downer on Toledo’s home opener.

LAST TIME OUT
Both Ohio and Toledo are trying to bounce back from subpar performances. After jumping out to a two game lead against Central Michigan, the Bobcats dropped their final two against the Chippewas by a combined score of 26-5. The Rockets nearly took Ball State to extra innings but fell 8-7 to the Cardinals after a Noah Navarro walk off home run.
WHAT TO WATCH
Friday’s matchup will provide one of, if not the best, batter vs pitcher matchup of the season. In the blue corner, there’s Ohio’s Joe Rock, who leads the MAC in ERA (0.90) and has struck out 44 batters this season. In the red corner is the current MAC homerun leader Chris Meyers, who leads the conference with seven homeruns while also sporting an impressive 23-game on base streak.
