Hockey: Ohio returns to Bird Arena hoping to turn things around against Liberty

Ohio traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia, last weekend in hopes of turning things around. Unfortunately, the Bobcats’ struggles continued as they lost two games against Liberty University to fall to 1-9 on the season.

The Bobcats will have another shot at the Flames this weekend as they return to their home ice.

Opponent : Liberty (6-3)

Location: Bird Arena

Game dates: March 5 at 7 p.m. | March 6 at 5 p.m.

Series information:

The Bobcats struggled this past weekend. Following Friday’s 4-1 loss, they reached what may have been their lowest point of the season, getting steamrolled 9-1 by Liberty on Saturday afternoon. Ohio is now 0-4 against Liberty this season, being outscored 19-4 in those four games.

Recently, Ohio has continued to struggle with missed scoring opportunities as well as taking penalties. On Saturday the Bobcats had a sluggish start and struggled at goalie as well. They will have to fix those issues, along with making sure to contain Liberty’s Quinn Ryan if they want to turn things around this weekend.

The Bobcats will be honoring seniors Jackson Chillberg and Mason Koster before their first game, as well as senior Timmy Thurnau before their second game.
