Today is Thursday, March 18, 2021. Here’s what you need to know:
Good morning,
The happiest place on Earth will soon be giving individuals of all ages smiles again.
Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Bob Chapek announced Wednesday the reopening of Disneyland Resort is scheduled for April 30. The Anaheim, California parks will have limited capacities, some ride restrictions and a phased approach to opening its hotels.
State guidelines over the coronavirus will allow the parks to be open at 15% capacity each. If cases in counties where Disneyland parks are located have significant drops in the amount of COVID-19 cases, they may enter a less restrictive tier in the state’s reopening roadmap and be allowed to operate at 25% or 35% capacity.
Only those living in California will be able to experience the magic of the parks, so those out of state will be stuck living vicariously through their social media feeds filled with mouse ears for now.
