Another COVID-19 death in Athens County was reported Monday, raising the illness’ death toll in the county to 12.
A woman in her 60s was confirmed to have died from COVID-19, according to data from the Ohio Department of Health. The woman was the fourth person in the 60-69 age range to have died from COVID-19 in Athens County.
Of the previous deaths, three were in the 80+ range, four were in the 70-79 age range and one was in the 50-59 age range.
The last COVID-19 death was confirmed Feb. 6, according to a previous Post report. That death was of a man in the 80+ age group.
There are currently 4,230 total cases of COVID-19 in Athens County. Of those cases, 546 are active.
