The Athens City-County Health Department reported another COVID-19 death Tuesday, marking the 31st death in the county.
The death was of an individual in the 50–59 age range, according to data from the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
The total number of active cases has risen to 4,562 in Athens County, up from 4,414 cases Feb. 12.
Athens County is still at a level red distinction, which denotes a very high level of exposure and spread of COVID-19, according to the Athens City-County Health Department.
The last COVID-19 death in Athens was a person in the 80+ age range, according to a previous Post report.
