Another COVID-19 death was reported in Athens County on Saturday, bringing the death toll in the county to 32.
An Athens County citizen 80 or older was confirmed dead Feb. 27, according to the Athens City-County Health Department. The individual is the 16th person in the 80+ age range to have died due to COVID-19 in Athens County.
The last COVID-19 related death reported was an individual in the 50-59 age range and was confirmed Feb. 23, according to a previous Post report.
As of Feb. 27, Athens has 4,612 COVID-19 cases. Of those cases, 339 are considered active.
