Another individual died of COVID-19 in Athens County on Sunday, raising the county-wide death toll to 33.
An Athens County resident age 80 or older was confirmed dead, according to the Athens City-County Health Department.
The death is the third reported since Tuesday. This is the 17th death in the 80+ age category for Athens.
Of the other two deaths reported since Tuesday, one was 80 or older while the other fell into the 50-59 age range, according to a previous Post report.
As of Feb. 28, Athens County has 4,631 COVID-19 cases with 341 presumed active.
