It’s been quite a day for Ohio athletics.
Earlier in the day, Ohio’s football game against Buffalo was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests on Ohio’s side. It wouldn’t be the last of the bad news for the Bobcats.
The Mid-American Conference announced on Friday that Ohio women’s basketball MAC opener against Kent State was postponed. Unlike the football game, the MAC has not specified why the game has been postponed.
Both Ohio and Kent State have had to cancel football games this week due to COVID issues. The Golden Flashes had to cancel their meeting with Miami on Monday.
The conference plans to still hold the women’s basketball game at a later date. Ohio was originally slated to play at Kent State on Feb.20 before the MAC announced changes to the women’s basketball schedule last Saturday. Currently, that date is still open for both teams.
Last season, Ohio and Kent State split their season series 1-1. The Bobcats defeated the Golden Flashes in Athens on Feb. 8 63-57. Kent State got its revenge at home 81-77 on March 4.
