The Buckeyes (4-2) are looking to win their fifth-straight game Saturday after making the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Nelsonville-York will be at home against the 11th seed, Symmes Valley (5-2), who won its first-round matchup last week while the Buckeyes had a bye.
Nelsonville-York doesn’t have a lot of playoff experience on its roster. Only the seniors on the team went to the state semifinals three years ago, and just a handful actually played in those games.
Symmes Valley features a running offense that will play into the strengths of Nelsonville-York’s strong interior. The experience on the inside will be crucial for the defense that has only allowed six points in the last two weeks.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
