The Buckeyes (5-2) are more confident than ever heading into their regional quarterfinal game at Fairland (6-1) on Saturday. Should Nelsonville-York win, it would host the winner of Loudonville and Coal Grove for its first regional semifinal since 2017 .
The Dragons are one the toughest opponents the Buckeyes have had on the schedule this season. They like to spread the ball out and run a lot of screen passes, similar to the offenses of Meigs and Athens.
Nelsonville-York is on a five-game winning streak and its defense has looked impenetrable in the second half of the season. It will be well tested against an offense that hasn’t scored less that 27 points all season.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
