Prosecutors and investigators with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office arrested a man Friday after a grand jury that charged him with six counts of rape.
Timothy Lenigar, 34, was arrested at a McDonald’s in Rio Grande and was taken into custody.
The grand jury’s indictment charges that Lenigar victimized three children.
The first allegation occurred between November and December of 2004, according to a press release from the Athens County Prosecutor's Office. Another child was allegedly raped two times between January and May of 2005. Two of the three counts involving the third child happened between July 2014 and April 2020.
The incidents happened in The Plains and Jackson County.
Lenigar was taken to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office and then was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, awaiting his arraignment on Monday, according to the news release.
