City to restart enforcement of 24-hour parking rule

The Athens Police Department announced Tuesday that the 24-hour parking ordinance will resume enforcement efforts Sept. 21 at 8 a.m.

Due to the pandemic and stay-at-home order in March, the city of Athens decided to suspend enforcement of the 24-hour parking ordinance.

The city asks people who have a car parked on the street to move it every 24 hours, according to an APD media release.
