Another confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Athens County on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to four.
There is currently only one active case in Athens County, Ruth Dudding, director of community health and engagement for the Athens City-County Health Department, said in an email.
Athens County only has one reported death related to COVID-19. There have been 1,002 COVID-19 deaths in Ohio as of May 1.
There are currently 18,743 cases in Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
Athens County is tied with Morgan, Jackson and Harrison counties for the third-lowest number of confirmed cases.
