Lambda Chi Alpha was moved to disciplinary probation instead of being on a cease and desist.
The probation began on Nov. 25 and will last until late November 2021.
The fraternity was under cease and desist after a new member reported that he had to participate in “Hell Week.” New members were locked in the basement for a week and were not allowed to bathe, sleep at home, do homework or go anywhere other than to class, according to a previous Post report.
Disciplinary probation means that any other violations of the Student Code of Conduct could result in further disciplinary actions, such as suspension or expulsion from the university.
