Today is Monday, Nov. 25, 2019. Here’s what you need to know:
Good morning,
There may not be life on the moon, but according to NASA, there is sugar in meteorites.
Researchers have found sugar in meteorites that crashed into Earth billions of years ago, per CNN. Of the three meteorites tested, scientists found three different “bio-essential” sugars: arabinose, xylose and ribose, which is found in RNA.
The discovery of ribose means that RNA may have developed before DNA, which gives scientists a better grasp on how life was created.
Prior to these findings, scientists have found meteorites that included biological elements, such as amino acids, hydrocarbons and traces of liquid water.
