An Athens County woman died Friday as a result of her injuries from a crash that occurred Monday.
The woman was Frances C. Stover, 58, of The Plains. Stover was killed due to a crash on U.S. 33 that caused the eastbound lane to close for about three hours.
Stover stopped in the right lane to pick up a tote bag that fell out of another woman’s pickup truck. Stover’s car was struck in the rear by Bryan R. Wilson, 51, of Albany.
Stover was transported to Ohio Health O’Bleness Hospital and was then airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash remains •under investigation.
