Volleyball: Ohio goes on the road for first time in MAC schedule

Ohio resumes Mid-American Conference play where it hits the road for the first time in the conference season with road trips to Kent State and Eastern Michigan. The Bobcats will face off against the Golden Flashes on Thursday and the Eagles on Saturday. Neither team fared well in the opening weekend of MAC play, each losing both of its first conference matches.

Thursday

vs. Kent State (7-7, 0-2 MAC)

Match time: 7 p.m.

Notes

-Kent State was swept by Miami and Bowling Green in its first two MAC matches. 

-In nonconference play, Kent State did not play any power five teams. 

-The Golden Flashes’ defense is third in the MAC, as their opponents are hitting .185.

-Danie Tyson is fourth in the MAC with a .342 hitting percentage, she also has 114 kills this season.

Saturday

vs. Eastern Michigan (5-9, 0-2 MAC)

Match time: 5 p.m.

Notes

-Eastern Michigan won the MAC tournament last season.

-The Eagles rank in the bottom half of the MAC in both hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage.

-Eastern Michigan played Purdue at the end of nonconference and suffered the same 3-1 loss as the Bobcats.

-Cassie Haut is fourth in the MAC with 3.27 kills per set.
