Men's Golf: Ohio finishes 8th in the Grandover Collegiate

Ohio couldn’t quite pick up where it left off a few weeks back, placing eighth out of 11 teams at the Grandover Collegiate held in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Bobcats shot a 925 (+61) throughout the two-day tournament, which had them shoot 16 strokes ahead of Elon in ninth place.

Ohio started the tournament on Sunday with the first two rounds, shooting rounds of 308 (+20) and 307 (+19). The struggle continued into Monday when the Bobcats shot a final round score of 310 (+22).

UNC-Greensboro won first place with a total score of 876 (+12), led by Nick Lyerly, who took home the individual best score with a 213 (-3).

Junior Zach Mandry was Ohio’s best golfer and posted round scores of 74 (+2), 71 (-1) and 75 (+3), which had him finish with a total score of 220 (+4), good for 10th place in the tournament.

Ohio will look to improve when they start its spring season, which starts with The Challenge at Concession in Bradenton, Florida, on March 9.
