Today is Friday, Sept. 13, 2019. Here’s what you need to know:
Good morning,
In the midst of mysterious illnesses and deaths related to electronic cigarettes, the Trump Administration is planning to ban the sale of non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes.
Trump’s main goal for implementing the ban is to “reverse the deeply concerning epidemic of youth e-cigarette use that is impacting children, families, schools and communities.”
Many cities and states across the U.S. have already banned the sale of most flavored e-cigarettes, such as San Francisco and the entire state of Michigan. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are now cautioning people to not use e-cigarettes, especially those bought off the street.
There have been at least 450 vaping-related illnesses throughout multiple states and at least six deaths linked to vaping-related respiratory illness.
