The first 14 opponents of the new Jeff Boals era at Ohio are now known.
The Bobcats announced the nonconference portion of their 2019 schedule Wednesday and unveiled the first slate of games Ohio will play under Boals, who took over as head coach in March. The Bobcats will play four opponents from the NCAA Tournament last season
The season opens on the road Nov. 5 against St. Bonaventure and features road games against Villanova and Iona, who both made the NCAA Tournament last season.
Ohio will head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, from Nov. 11-21 for three games in the Myrtle Beach Invitational against Utah, Coastal Carolina and Baylor, who was also a participant in the NCAA Tournament last season.
The Bobcats will also host Purdue, who advanced to the Elite 8 in last season’s NCAA Tournament, on Dec. 17 at The Convo and close its nonconference schedule with a home game against Campbell on Dec. 29.
