The Alexander Local School District levy was confirmed to pass by a one vote margin after a recount Monday.
The levy, which was originally passed May 24, is a one percent earned income tax levy, according to a previous Post report.
The recount was consistent with the original count, according to Debby Quivey, director of the Athens County Board of Elections. The Athens County votes for the levy were 1,184 in favor and 1,183 against.
This is the sixth levy to fund operating costs that Alexander Local School District has attempted to pass within the past three years. If the results stand, it will be the first operating levy the district has passed since 1991, according to a previous Post report.
