Chaden Djalali, executive vice president and provost, announced Thursday that Stephanie Williams will serve as the new director for Ohio University Press.
Williams, who will start at OU on June 24, was most recently director of marketing and sales at the University Press of Kentucky, according to a news release.
Williams received a bachelor’s degree in writing and literature from Naropa University. She was the assistant director of sales for University Press of Florida, according to a news release.
Williams will be responsible for daily operations, and developing strategic long-range and current plans for Ohio University Press. She will also be responsible for devising business models based on university and fundraising support to supplement sales revenue, according to a previous Post report.
A search committee was formed in November to fill the position, according to a news release.
Ohio University Press is a leading publisher of books about, Africa, Appalachia, Southeast Asia and the Midwest, according to a news release.
“Stephanie brings a great deal of experience to the Ohio University Press,” Djalali said. “As the oldest scholarly press in the state of Ohio, it is of vital importance that we develop a strategic, long-range plan for continued success.”
