In the same week Morgan Geno broke the Ohio program record for career RBIs, she’s been named the Mid-American Conference’s co-Player of the Week.
During Ohio’s 3-1 home stretch this week, the redshirt senior hit .444, with all four of her hits being home runs. She also added eight RBIs, scored three runs and drew four walks.
Geno’s sixth-inning homer against Northern Kentucky on March 26 was what broke the tie and ultimately gave the Bobcats the victory.
In Ohio’s series with Northern Illinois, she went 3-of-7 with three homers and six RBIs. Her final home run, coming in the fifth inning of game three with the Huskies, put the game out of reach and sealed the Bobcats a series win.
After a big week, Geno is confident, but she doesn’t feel her confidence should come just based on high level of play.
“I’m a senior. I should have confidence,” she said. “I’ve been here before. I’m just going with it and enjoying my last few games as a Bobcat.”
