Women's Basketball: Ohio left out of NCAA Tournament

After two long days of waiting, Ohio found out Monday afternoon that it was not selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament.

This is the fourth consecutive year Ohio (27-5 ,14-4 Mid-American Conference) didn’t make the tournament. Ohio was projected to be one of the last teams selected, but for the second time since 2016, the Bobcats barely missed the cut as one of the first four out.

Ohio thought it had a solid shot at its first tournament berth since 2015 after a season that produced a MAC East title and a runner-up finish in the MAC Tournament. Coach Bob Boldon was disappointed after finding out hours prior to the NCAA selection show. It was a show that he had planned on watching with the Bobcats.

“There are a lot of metrics that make me feel this team is good enough to play in the NCAA Tournament,” Boldon said. “This group just has this one chance to make this impact. It’s disappointing it won’t get the chance to do so.”
