The founder of “because I said I would” will give the Spring 2019 commencement speech.
Alex Sheen, founder of a social movement and nonprofit focused on dedication to keeping promises, graduated from Ohio University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in marketing, according to an OU media release.
“We are honored and thrilled to have such an outstanding person return to his alma mater to share his passion and wisdom with our community,” OU President Duane Nellis, said in the media release.
Sheen’s organization has made more than 10 million “promise cards” which have been shipped to more than 153 countries.
The undergraduate commencement ceremonies will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on May 4 in the Convocation Center.
