OU Chillicothe dean announces retirement

The dean of Ohio University’s Chillicothe campus announced Tuesday afternoon his plans for retirement.

Marty Tuck has been the dean of the Chillicothe campus since 2011 and will retire on June 30, according to a news release.

Tuck plans on returning to the college of arts and sciences to teach in OU’s early retirement program.

“It has been a pleasure to serve the Chillicothe Campus as its dean for the past eight years and work with the very talented faculty and staff of the campus,” Tuck said in a news release.

Tuck is the current chair of the Executive Board of the Ross County United Way and is a member of the Chillicothe Rotary Club, according to a news release.

“He … has been a key academic leader for the regional campuses both as resource for faculty regarding promotion and tenure processes,” Bill Wilan, OU’s executive dean for regional higher education, said in a news release.

Chaden Djalali, executive vice president and provost, will announce a plan to replace Tuck with an interim at a later date.
