Athens County dispatcher indicted for unauthorized use of database

An Athens County 911 dispatcher resigned from his position Tuesday after he was indicted by the Athens Grand Jury.

Rob L. Mount, 39, of Guysville, was indicted for unauthorized use of Law Enforcement Automated Database System (LEADS), which is a fifth degree felony.

LEADS is a statewide computerized network which provides law enforcement officers across Ohio with computerized data and communications from other agencies, Athens County Prosecuting Attorney Keller Blackburn said in the release.

“Mount is accused of obtaining information from LEADS using his role as a dispatcher for Athens County 9-1-1 regarding an ongoing investigation and then providing information to an unaudited individual,” Blackburn said in the release.

Mount was indicted by the January Term of the 2019 Grand Jury on Jan. 18. His arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 20.

The case was investigated by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
