Jaime Kosiorek broke Ohio's service ace record with her third service ace Friday against Western Michigan at The Convo.
The record was previously held by Stephanie Blackburn, who played with Ohio from 2004 to 2007 and totaled 162 career aces.
The arena’s PA speaker delivered the announcement to the crowd, who gave Kosiorek, a redshirt senior, a standing ovation.
Kosiorek would have likely broken the record much sooner if she wasn't sidelined for most of 2017. She suffered an ACL injury in the Bobcats' fourth game of last season and missed the remainder of the year.
But her injury hasn't impeded her abilities from the service line in 2018. Kosiorek has been the Bobcats' best server of the year with a team-leading 43 aces. She's just four aces away from eclipsing her season-high 46 aces set as a freshman.
"It's phenomenal, what's happening right now," coach Deane Webb said. "She's doing some pretty special things, so I'm excited for her and looking forward for her continued success."
