Volleyball: Everything you need to know ahead of Ohio's weekday match against Marshall

Ohio will play in its first midweek match of the season on Wednesday when it travels to Huntington, West Virginia, to play Marshall at Cam Henderson Center.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Wednesday's match.

Match time: 6 p.m.

Ohio record: 2-4. The Bobcats went 1-2 last weekend in Nebraska.

Marshall record: 3-4. The Thundering Herd went 2-1 last weekend in Chicago, Illinois.

News and notes

-Marshall also played Ball State, Ohio's Mid-American Conference foe, on Aug. 25 in a preseason match. The Thundering Herd were swept by the Cardinals in three sets. The Bobcats will play the Cardinals in Muncie, Indiana, on Oct. 12.

-Based on hitting percentage, Wednesday's match could be lengthy. Marshall owns a .161 hitting percentage — Ohio's percentage is .174.

-Marshall has two players that are from Europe. Isa Dostal (freshman) is from Ljubljana, Slovenia, which is the capital of Slovenia and home of the oldest wheel ever discovered. Ivana Trencheva (junior) is from Razlog, Bulgaria, a town of about 13,448. 

-Marshall's Destiny Leon (junior) is from Bon Air West Arouca, Trinidad.
