Student Senate will vote on six resolutions and one bill Wednesday night and give senior honors and senior emeritus awards to its members.
The awards are usually given at the last meeting of the year, but they were moved because of the busy agenda expected for the last meeting, Landen Lama, president of Student Senate, said.
“It’s kind of like our senior superlatives,” Lama said.
Two resolutions are making preparations for the Unchained fashion show that Student Senate will help put on. That national corporation helps raise awareness about human trafficking. Student Senate will vote on purchasing posters and renting Walter Rotunda for the fashion show.
The senate will be voting on purchasing supplies for “Finals Fest,” an event taking place the weekend before finals in which senate will rent out rooms in Baker Center for students to study. Members are doing that to give students another space besides the library to study, Lama said.
A new bill sponsored by the Women’s Affairs and Black Affairs commissions concerning bringing more multicultural faculty to Ohio University will also be voted on.
