If you've got a passcode on your iPhone, you might notice that Siri requires you to unlock your phone if you ask her to read your text messages.

However, third-party messaging apps, like Slack or Skype, don't require you to unlock the phone. This error, first reported by Mac Magazine, applies to devices running the latest version of iOS (11.2.6) and the beta version of iOS 11.3. It's unclear whether this is a bug or just an oversight.

Either way, you might not want to say, "Hey Siri, read my notifications," if you're not alone.
