Apple is offering a discounted rate for its latest iPad model to schools, according to The Verge

Schools can buy the new 9.7-inch model for $299, while consumers have to pay $329. The company announced the initiative at its education event in Chicago on Tuesday. The iPad is also compatible with Apple Pencil, which schools will only have to pay $89 compared to the $99 consumers pay.

The tablet features an HD FaceTime camera, 10 hours of battery life and Touch ID.
