Ohio’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase to $8.30 per hour in 2018 from $8.15 in 2017, according to a news release from the Ohio Department of Commerce.
Tipped employees, or employees who receive more than $30 per month in tips, will have a minimum wage of $4.15 an hour. Employees at companies that earn less than $305,000 a year, as well as 14- and 15-year-olds, will receive a minimum wage of $7.25 an hour — the same as the federal minimum wage rate.
The 15 cent increase comes from a 2006 Ohio constitutional amendment that requires the state’s minimum wage to increase each year by the rate of inflation.
