After an offseason filled with transfers out of the program, the Bobcats added forward Kevin Mickle as a graduate transfer from Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
Ohio will be the fourth school Mickle has played for during his college career after stops at Central Connecticut State, Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Florida Gulf Coast.
Coach Saul Phillips said he was excited about Mickle’s defensive versatility as well as his experience — the Bobcats have four freshmen on the roster entering the season.
In 63 games for Florida Gulf Coast, Mickle averaged 2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. But the Bobcats are more excited about the defensive energy he can bring to the team, which won’t show up on the stat sheet.
