Following the conclusion of Ohio's open tryouts on Wednesday, Ohio announced its 2017-18 roster on Thursday, with Jackson Chilberg being the team's lone addition from the tryouts.
The freshman goalie arrives from St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, New York. Chilberg played in 11 games across two seasons with St. Francis and registered a 3.42 Goals Against Average in eight games played in 2015-16 and a 2.14 in three games played in 2016-17, according to eliteprospects.com
Chilberg is the eighth newcomer to join the Bobcats for 2017-18 following the departure of 10 seniors from 2016-17.
The 6-foot-2 goalie will round out the trio of young options coach Sean Hogan can utilize between the pipes. Chilberg joins sophomore Jimmy Thomas and freshman Mason Koster, with Thomas most likely to see the majority of ice time.
The Bobcats open the season on the weekend of Sept. 22-23 with a pair of games against John Carroll.
