In a release sent out Monday morning, Ohio Athletics announced a plan to better the fan experience at games this season.
One of those additions will be a pilot program which will allow beer sales to all fans of legal age at Peden Stadium this season.
Final confirmation is contingent on final permit approval from the State of Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Liquor Control, according to the release. The plan was drafted with help from the Ohio University Police Department. Beer will be sold stadium-wide, and there will be a specific area — rows 14-27 of section 110 — that will be alcohol-free.
It's important to note, however, that beer will not be sold in concession stands on the student end of the field.
In addition to the beer sales, the north end of the stadium will be under construction due to the planned development of the Sook Center. The academic building will be located on the part of the stadium facing campus.
There will be a new video board in the south end of the stadium, as well as a new sound system that will be implemented across the stadium.
Ohio's first home game is against Hampton on Sept. 2.
