It is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And some faces, only a mother could love. It’s unfortunate that something so subjective as beauty is held so high as a standard, but that’s probably not something that will ever change.
This week’s star of Pet Instagram Review has achieved fame regardless of his perceived lack of beauty. Tuna (@tunameltsmyheart) is a chiweenie, which is presumably a mix between a chihuahua and a weiner dog, with almost 2 million followers. He has a pretty serious case of overbite, but he’s still pretty cute.
Quality of Pictures
There’s a mix between phone photos and camera photos on this account, so Tuna still seems down-to-Earth in spite of his fame. His signature overbite makes him pretty much always look nervous, regardless, he agrees to be dressed up and poses for the camera. He’s not always wearing dog clothes, but when he is it’s not something you want to miss. This pup has quite the wardrobe.
Rate of Posts
The owners of this account are pretty dedicated, so you’ll probably see one or two posts per day, give or take a few. There appears to be a higher frequency of posts if it’s a holiday or special occasion. As I’ve seen with most big accounts, one of the keys to success in this field is a constant stream of posts. You can’t let your followers forget you’re there.
Cuteness of Pet
Even though he wasn’t born looking like most dogs, Tuna is still very cute in his own way. His nervous smile sets him apart, but that’s all the more reason to love him. As computer programmers love to say, it’s not a bug — it’s a feature. Tuna’s teeth don’t detract from his cuteness, they’re the centerpiece. He keeps his head high and should be an inspiration for anyone feeling too hard on themselves.
