Jaaron Simmons, Jordan Dartis and Jason Carter were given postseason awards Monday afternoon by the Mid-American Conference, the conference announced.
Simmons was named to the First Team All-MAC, while Carter was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team. Dartis was named an all-conference Honorable Mention.
A redshirt junior, Simmons averaged 15.3 points per game, 6.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. Since Antonio Campbell's injury in mid-January, Simmons stepped up and averaged 18.3 points, 6.1 assists and over 37 minutes per game.
He earned his 1,000th point this season, including a career-high 38-point outburst against Akron.
Carter, the player who essentially replaced Campbell, averaged 9.8 points per game and 6.4 rebounds in 13 games started. He capped his freshman regular season with a 16-rebound, 17-point performance. The 6-foot-8, 224-pound freshman was labeled by some this season as a "future MAC Player of the Year."
The two will hit the floor Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena for the semifinals of the MAC Tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
