The Ohio University Police Department released a crime alert Thursday after three men reportedly robbed a male student on Morton Hill.
The men stopped the student at about 1 a.m., pushed him against a wall and asked for his wallet, according to the crime alert. Police patrolled the area but could not locate the suspects.
A third party reported the incident to OUPD, and the victim has not contacted police. The department therefore can’t describe the suspects or provide further details.
The alert is the second this academic year to warn people on the OU campus about a reported robbery. On Nov. 17, OUPD issued a crime alert after someone reported a robbery in which a suspect allegedly brandished a knife.
The victim told the Athens Police Department the robbery occurred in the alleyway between the RTV building and Kantner Hall at about 3 a.m. the same day. The crime alert described the suspects as two black males, one wearing a grey jacket and the other a red jacket.
That case is still active, according to the OUPD website.
Anyone with information about the Thursday incident can contact OUPD at 740-593-1911.
