Shiba Inus are the smallest and oldest dogs from Japan, according to the American Kennel Club, but many people know them as the face of the “doge” meme.
Memes and history aside, Ryuji (@ryuji513) is a semi-famous Shiba from Japan who has almost 100,000 followers on Instagram. He is a very playful and friendly pup, and the thoughtful account operator even includes an English translation of each post description.
Quality of Pictures
Almost all of the pictures on this account appear to be taken on a camera. Luckily, Ryuji seems to be a very patient dog. He doesn’t wear too much clothing, usually only a bandana, but there are plenty of other dressed-up dogs all over Instagram. The captions on the pictures really shine though, as they are always optimistic and will most likely bring a smile to your face (they are written in the point of view of the dog). Sometimes he even poses with his owner, which is especially adorable.
Rate of Posts
This account features multiple pictures nearly every day. Though many of them are from the same photo shoot I don’t mind and you probably won’t either. The dedication from the owners stands out, and should serve as an example for pet Instagram accounts everywhere.
Cuteness of Pet
Shibas are potentially some of the most huggable-looking dogs out there. They look so fluffy and inviting, and Ryuji is no exception. He looks like a pup anyone would be lucky to have as a friend, and sometimes appears to be smiling or sticks his tongue out. His owner will even sometimes squish Ryuji’s face together into a bundle of doge.
Rating: 4/5
This is a very good pet Instagram account. Where it lacks in variety of location, it makes up for it with heartwarming captions and a cute dog. You’ll be hoping to meet Ryuji in no time after following this account.
