Ohio welcomes both Duquesne and Xavier to Athens this weekend for a duel meet at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Bobcats won 11 of 14 events in their last meet against Denison on Jan. 7.

Swim and Dive: Ohio welcomes two teams to Athens this Saturday

Ohio will host Duquesne and Xavier this Saturday in a double-dual meet at 1 p.m. for the second of three home meets in January.

The last time out, Ohio swimmers won 11 out of 14 events against Denison on Jan. 7, which included a sweep of all five freestyle events.

The Ohio divers had less time off as they competed in the Buffalo Invite Jan.13-15 with Olivia Dillon winning the platform dive, which unfortunately for Ohio is not an event at dual-meets. Dillon swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against Denison for the first diving wins of the season for Ohio.

Duquesne is coming to Athens with a win in their last dual-meet against Saint Francis (PA) on Jan. 14, where it won nine of 14 events. Duquesne and Ohio have a common opponent in Youngstown State, which both teams beat by 33 and 79 points, respectively.

Xavier comes with losses to both teams they faced in a double dual-meet Jan. 6 and the only first-place finish was in the 400-yard relay. Miami (OH) and Denison are the teams both Xavier and Ohio have swum against, with Xavier losing to both and Ohio beating Denison but losing to Miami (OH).

Ohio will need to be ready Saturday for both these teams, as they will be competing in the same pool, but with scoring like a dual-meet with Ohio scoring against Duquesne and Xavier separately.
