Sophomore Kat Bloch has left Ohio’s volleyball program in the midst of her second year, Coach Deane Webb confirmed at Monday’s press conference.
The Los Angeles native was a libero who saw limited time on the court this year, playing in 27 sets in 2016. She had six digs this year.
Webb said that her decision to leave was based on academics.
“She wanted to focus more on her schoolwork,” Webb said. “She’s someone that the team enjoyed having around. She’s a wonderful young lady. She got to the point in life where she needed to spend more time on (schoolwork). We support her in her decision.”
In 2015, she played in nine matches, totaling seven digs and two kills.
