While these Twitter accounts aren't related to OU, they deserve a follow

Check out the Twitter accounts OU Confessions, OU Crushes, Bobcat MakeOUts and That's So Athens for some funny tweets.

While walking to class everyday, Ohio University students can be seen checking Twitter on their smartphones for the latest OU confession, crush or make out.

While there are plenty of OU administrators and Athens officials to follow on Twitter including Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones — who is also interim vice president for Student Affairs until June 13 — and Athens Mayor Steve Patterson among others, there are also a handful of Twitter accounts to follow for enjoyment.

Here are some Twitter accounts unaffiliated with the university all OU students should follow for their entertainment.

@OU_Confessions

This Twitter account was created in March 2013 and is used by students to anonymously confess whatever comes to mind. Confessions can be serious or lighthearted, but typically relate to OU.

“OU Confessions is probably the best," Madeline Nielsen, a who will be a sophomore in the fall studying history, said. "I feel like a lot of it is probably made up.”

In order to send in a tweet, click the ask.fm link in the Twitter bio and write your confession.

@OUCrushes

This account is for people who want to profess their love or crush for that special campus crush but choose to do so anonymously on Twitter.

In order to send a tweet in, follow the ask.fm link in the Twitter bio, submit your crush and voilà.

The account, which was started by three roommates, went live in March 2012, according to a previous Post report.

“I don’t think (OU Crushes) necessarily helps people fall in love,” Anna Martin, who will be a sophomore in the fall studying history, said, noting she finds the tweets funny and likes the “stupidity” of it.

Who knows, one day you or someone you know might be the recipient of an OU Crush.

Though Nielsen has not been featured on OU crushes, she said her friends have been given shoutouts.

“We freaked out in our GroupMe’s,” Nielsen said.

Her friends never figured out who the secret admirer was.

@bobcatmakeOUts

If you are not one to kiss and tell, Bobcat MakeOUts will do it for you.

Students post pictures to Twitter and tag the account, according to a previous Post report.

The account was launched in September 2012.

Wade Andrews, who will be a senior studying sports management, said he likes it when he sees his friends on Bobcat MakeOUts

“A lot of my friends have been on that, sadly,” Andrews said.

Usually when his friends pop up on the Twitter account, Andrews said they are surprised and a little embarrassed.

“It’s fun to see them on it,”  Andrews said, noting he has never been featured on the Bobcat MakeOUts.

@ThatsSoAthens

This Twitter account proudly boasts that it's “Your Source For Everything Athens, OH.”

Zac Sebo created the account in August 2010 after he graduated from OU, and has a strong relationship with Prime Social Group, the creators of Number Fest, according to a previous Post report.

There is also a corresponding Instagram page.

The account tweets out a wide range of topics, but most tweets come before and during Number Fest when the annual music event gets promoted.
