Hailey Hrynewich won the 2016 Snowman Classic by 9 strokes.
Hailey Hrynewich picked up her first individual win of the season at maybe the most important time.
With just one week until the MAC Tournament tees off, Hrynewich shot a one-under-par 71 to win the two-team 2016 Snowman Classic on Sunday at the Lancaster Country Club. She won the tournament by nine strokes.
The 71 tied her career best for a round. It was also her first round under par since the final round of the Rio Verde Invitational in February.
Hrynewich shot an opening round score of 73 (+1) Saturday to give her a final score of 144 (E).
The win was Hrynewich's second of her career. Her win at 2015 Lady Colonel Classic was her first.
Although Hrynewich won the tournament individually, the Bobcats as a team shot poorly and finished second behind Bowling Green.
Emily Hughes, a freshman, tied for fifth place. Hughes shot back-to-back 79's and finished with a two day score of 158 (+14). The fifth place finish was Hughes' best finish this spring.
Senior Lauren McKenzie shot a pair of 82s to finish with a two day score of 164 (+20), good enough for an eighth place finish.
Lily Pendy, a sophomore, shot a two day score of 167 (+23) to finish in ninth place.
