Hrynewich, who currently sits at No. 13 on the MAC leaderboard, will lead Ohio back to Richmond, Kentucky, for a chance to repeat as champion and win a team championship, as well.
The last time Hailey Hrynewich competed in the Lady Colonel Classic, the then-sophomore shot an even round of 72, including four birdies, and took home the tournament medalist in a rain-shortened tournament.
Now a junior, Hrynewich, who currently sits at No. 13 on the Mid-American Conference leaderboard, will lead Ohio back to Richmond, Kentucky, for a chance to repeat as champion and win a team championship, as well.
The Lady Colonel Classic will begin Friday morning in Richmond. The event is a two-day event and will be played at University Club at Arlington. The course is par-72 and is 5,819 yards. Friday's round will consist of 36 holes, and the final 18 will be played Saturday.
The Bobcats came close to winning the Lady Colonel Classic last year, finishing second and shooting a team total of 307 (+19). That included Hrynewich's 72 and a 77 from two other golfers. The Bobcats only shot 18 holes during last year's tournament.
This April's trip to Kentucky could feature a similar narrative, as Hrynewich and her teammate, Angela Codian, have been off to strong starts so far this spring.
The duo has been Ohio's top two scorers through two spring tournaments, including a strong showing at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 28.
Hrynewich finished tied for 11th place with a three-round score of 223. Codian landed at 28th place with a three-round score of 226.
The Bobcats can look to those two to measure how much success they will have this spring and in the weekend's action in Kentucky.
Codian, a senior from Massillon, Ohio, who shot a score of 81 (+9) in last April's Lady Colonel Classic, will look to improve her strong start this spring, which included a round last month that was just 2-over-par.

Another golfer Ohio can look to for success is sophomore and Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan-native Lily Pendy, who is currently 32nd on the MAC leaderboard. Pendy finished last year's Lady Colonel Classic tied for 13th after shooting a 77 (+5) score.
