The comment came just in time for Ohio's primary elections.
Good morning. Here's what you need to know for Tuesday, March 15, 2016:
Ohio is the center of the political world, at least for now.
Today marks another Super Tuesday of sorts, when Ohio’s Republican and Democratic primary elections are held, in addition to elections in states elsewhere. A lot has been written about whether Gov. John Kasich can halt businessman Donald Trump on his home turf and if Sen. Bernie Sanders can build off his surprising win in Michigan earlier this month.
In Athens, however, people are specifically talking about CNN’s Sunday night Democratic town hall in Columbus. There, Athens resident and Village Bakery owner Christine Hughes asked former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a question about hydraulic fracturing.
In her answer, Clinton apparently gave Athens a shoutout, calling it a “beautiful" place. She might not just be putting us on, either. Clinton gave the 1997 afternoon commencement speech at Ohio University, when she was first lady.
Christine Hughes, from Athens, OH asks Clinton whether she would allow fracking. Clinton gives Athens a nice s/o: "Athens is beautiful."
