Ohio lost to Buffalo on Saturday. A win would've clinched at least a share of the Mid-American Conference title.
Ohio has lost twice in Mid-American Conference play. Both losses have been to Buffalo.
The Bulls swept the Bobcats with a 70-58 upset win on Ohio’s Senior Day in The Convo.
Had the Bobcats won, they would’ve clinched a share of the conference regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament next month in Cleveland.
“At this point you just have to say Buffalo is better than us,” coach Bob Boldon said. “Sometimes teams are just better than you. We have a hard time guarding them; we have a hard team scoring.”
The upset was the first time Ohio has lost in The Convo this season.
Ohio returns to action Wednesday night against Bowling Green. Ohio has two games remaining in the regular season.
The Bobcats are now 22-5 and 14-2 in conference play.
“They were significantly better than us from start to finish,” Boldon said. “That happens.”
