OUPD picked up a sexual assault evidence kit from OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital Monday night.
The Ohio University Police Department picked up a sexual assault evidence collection kit Monday from OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital, marking the 23rd sex crime reported to local law enforcement since the beginning of the academic year. A 24th sex crime was reporter to OUPD on Tuesday afternoon.
An OUPD officer picked up the kit, which was submitted anonymously, at about 9 p.m., according to the police report.
OUPD has fielded five other reports of sex crimes since the beginning of the Spring Semester, according to a previous Post article.
The incident is the ninth alleged rape reported to the Athens Police Department and OUPD since the beginning of Fall Semester, according to previous Post reports.
